Last night, well more like very early this morning, I was flipping through the channels when I ran across this documentary titled, "Please Vote For Me." It was on Georgia Public Broadcasting, as part of the Independent Lens series.
The documentary follows around three grade school children in China, each of whom are running for class monitor. Remember, China is a Communist country - representative democracy (voting for someone to represent you) is not something with which they have experience. It's quite amazing the strategies these children employ and how invested they, and their families, become in this election. It's definitely worth the watch if you get the chance. I loved this. It was quite interesting how they tried to play on each other's character traits.
